1.Initial Consultation
The initial consultation will normally last for approximately 10 minutes or you can contact our therapists by calling us. Parents have an informal chat with a therapist regarding the problems they are facing with their child. If a formal diagnosis has already been carried out, we will discuss how the center can provide support. If no formal diagnosis has been made, and the parents agree, an appointment will be arranged for a full assessment of the child.
2.Appointment for Assessment
Following the initial consultation, if the parents have agreed, a full assessment based on the information given by the parent will be given by the therapist. The assessment will be completed in one session. A full assessment may involve the child, parents, school and any other agencies involved.
3.Assessment and Report
The assessment given will be based on the information provided at the initial consultation and will take one hour. Most assessments take the form of initial observation, questionnaires and formal tests depending on the needs of the child. The center performs formal assessment for a number of specific difficulties.
There will be a follow up appointment given to discuss the result, recommended treatment/therapy and proposed package including a programme or therapy.
Following the assessment, a FULL report will be ready between 20 to 30 days. At the same time, we will work with the child to carry out the final report.
